Snakepit Wrestling Academy Guam (SWAG) had very humble beginnings.
Shortly after moving to Guam, Coach Nathan Tully was surprised to learn that most young athletes did not start wrestling until the age of fourteen. As quickly as the thought occurred, Snakepit Wrestling Academy was born. The first training facility to host SWAG was iFIT Gym, in Tamuning, Guam. After a short run there and the gathering of a core group of dedicated athletes and parents, SWAG moved to its current location. It has been up and running out of Tiyan High school, which generously hosts the Academy with open arms.
The Academy now has over sixty active participants, ranging in ages from five and up! After countless hours of work and dedication by the Executive board members of SWAG, it is now an officially registered Guam non-profit under 501(c)(3).
The present and future well-being of our island's youth
Snakepit Wrestling Academy Guam has the desire to help our community. The importance of community outreach and availability of human services is one that lies on a broad spectrum- especially for the island of Guam. The diversity of Guam is modeled in the diversity of its interests, with sport being one of them. Sport organizations and teams are vast here, but there are few who have the intent to participate in charitable work aimed to help the community and its people. It is in this service that Snakepit wrestling academy sees the opportunity to help our youth. To be independent, strong, caring and relentless. Most importantly, we aim to provide a surrounding that allows them to grow their interest in health and fitness, mental well-being and humanitarian support.
